If you are looking for an easy and light way to wrap your lunch (bread) or to cover a container before putting it in the fridge, and you don't want anymore to use plastic or aluminium papers, the beeswax food wraps will be your new best friend!

I tried the following recipe a few weeks ago and so far I'm happy about the result.

Ingredients :

- an old towel to protect your ironing board (that you don't mind getting waxy )

- two sheets of grease proof paper

- an iron

- grated beeswax

- cotton fabric (preferably 100% organic)

How to proceed :

  • Step #1 : Put on the ironing board the old towel and on it one sheet of grease proof paper

  • Step #2 : Drop on it the cotton fabric on which you will have sprinkle the beeswax and covert it with the second sheet of grease proof paper.

  • Step #3 : Iron

  • Step #4 : Then, you can check if the beeswax was spread everywhere. If it's not the case, put back some beeswax and follow the same process.

  • Step #5 : Let it dry, and it's ready to be used!

  • Step #6 : After using it, you need to wash it. Wash it always with cold water (other wise, with hot water the beeswax might melt).

  • Step #7 : You can restart the process every time you feel the wax is missing and the cloth isn't enough flexible.

Warning : avoid packing raw food (such as meat or fish) or hot food directly into a bee wrap.
